A typical stator lace band or cord is made of many different products, each of which has its own unique application advantages. The most commonly used lace tape is heat shrinkable polyester tape. The advantages of this product include the shrinkage of the product by approximately 10% at 350F, which tightens the end coils to reduce movement and vibration. Therefore, by using laces such as braided lace, the strength and life of the motor and generator can be increased.
